					<description><![CDATA[Whilst it is true that Wandsworth were only proposing to close one library, it was the one library which serves the most deprived area of the borough.  The council thought they could quietly close it without any objection and were surprised at the reaction.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;They have now proposed, without any consultation, to use the library as a Big Society experiment - just as long as there are volunteers to help run it - and to rent out part of the building to a private school.  They wouldn&#039;t dare do this in the area of the borough which is the most affluent.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;They claim they need to save £55 million but are actually proposing an INCREASE in the amount they hold in investments.]]></description>
