					<description><![CDATA[It makes me sad to read some of the comments about libraries . I worked in the Public Library Service for 37 1/2 years. I think libraries are essential to inform and produce a literate society.
I am retired now but still use my local branch and belong to the adult reading group. I also buy books from all sources that I can get them from. Last year I read 68 books most of them over 600 pages. I have a list of every book I have read since 1968.

When I was working I spent 28 years in Special Services. Latterly before retiring I was having to fight for every service we provided for people with Special Needs. After years spent building the service up it was dumbed down and destroyed  very quickly.]]></description>
