News
Northern Ireland becomes the last part of the United Kingdom, from the very north of Scotland to Cornwall to South Wales, to announce library closures. There have been several authorities trying to avoid closing libraries by proposing transferring them to trusts. While this is certainly better than closing them, the experience of trusts has not been an altogether happy one for library users. Alan Gibbons, spurred on by the historic nature of the cuts is trying to organise a national campaign to save them.
