I am not aware of Desmond doing this at all. Are you sure you have the right campaigner?

'Few tears for departing campaigner'

So the man who gloated over some public servants losing their jobs, some of whom are experiencing real hardship, departs the scene?

Thank God for that.

Nice to see the item about the library organising a competition for a library logo. We at Waterbeach, being a totally voluntary library, organised a competition for the children to design a logo for the library. We had many entries which were voted on by the volunteers. The winner was awarded a prize, with three runner up prizes awarded to three other children. We used the logo just as it was designed, no artist was brought in to tart it up and everyone is very pleased with it. The logo is now displayed on the sign on the side of the library, also on the High Street, it also is used on our stationery, and the children will also receive some stickers during the Reading Challenge 2013 which we are very hot on in Waterbeach. We also ensure we have new books for the parents during the summer vacation, so everyone has a challenge!! A forward thinking voluntary library full of dedicated volunteers.
