Saturday 8 February 2014

11 am – 12 noon 2 -3 pm
Sea Mills Library. Bus 41 to Sunny Hill; Sylvan Way.

Activity : Read library poems by local and national writers such as Julia Donaldson, John Hegley etc. Talk about libraries and walking routes to libraries.

Design your dream library. Competition. Supply felt pens and paper for under 16 and award prizes of £10. (This needs to be discussed).

As the husband of a library assistant, I am aware that this has been a ‘soft’ touch for Councils seeking to make savings. Indeed I read yesterday that a woman was organising donations of books for the Wirral library service!
This is an area alongside mobile libraries that has really suffered and causes a further decline in visits due to little new stock.
