I am surprised that you advocate our taking up a language that is defined from the Greek &quot;barbaros&quot; as:  &quot;foreign, strange, ignorant&quot;.  Also, when applied to a  &quot;native of the Barbary coast&quot;, it meant a &quot;rude, wild person&quot;.  There are enough ignorant, rude, wild people about without library folk and the public joining them.  I hereby  confiscate your Barbarian Dictionary, Ian, which is only one of the possible sanctions that might be applied should you persist.  #SheSaidSternly]]></description>
