The population of metropolitan Columbus, not just the city, is 1.967m. Thus the per head library spend is £15,25 which is not so different from the UK spend. I obviously need a librarian!

So with a population of 0.875m the cost per head cost is £34.28. The CIPFA library stats indicate that UK public library expenditure per head in 2013/14 was £13.60 (english metropolitan districts spend was similar at £13.68).

Does this indicate that UK councillors undervalue public libraries? In the UK the public get no vote on specific funding for their public libraries.
