You&#039;re right about the shocking lack of Green Party policy on public libraries. I&#039;m a Green Party member, and I&#039;ve contributed to some other policies, and I&#039;m very aware that we need to have better policy on libraries, which is currently almost non-existent. Since I think most of our policies are excellent this is a striking contrast.

For example, here&#039;s something from the Culture, Media and Sport policy, http://policy.greenparty.org.uk/culture,-media-and-sports.html:

&#039;CMS414 The body of historical creative work forms the basis of our culture at national, regional and local level; the preservation of this culture is a responsibility of the state through support for cultural stores such as museums, archives, libraries, heritage and major performing arts venues and companies.&#039;

Well, that&#039;s better than saying it&#039;s okay to sell off our heritage and expect volunteers to look after it, but it&#039;s pretty minimal. 

I must add a &#039;talk with other Greens about improving our public libaries policy&#039; to my to-do list!]]></description>
