Too true, sadly. I think &quot;night libraries&quot; - open at least until 8, probably longer - would only be viable in big cities and/or in co-locations with allied activities. I could see it working in Manchester or Liverpool etc. Definitely in Birmingham but the sad fact there is that they&#039;ve cut their hours due to lack of budget, not extended them. It&#039;s a challenge for the profession and may be an insurmountable one for many at the moment. But we can but dream.]]></description>

					<description><![CDATA[Quite a lot of our hard pressed libraries are open on Saturday&#039;s as this was thought to make them more accessible to people with jobs. But our 24/7 culture means that Saturdays (and Sundays) are now working days as are evenings.
Changing hours to cover some evenings will only result in a loss or hours elsewhere I fear.]]></description>
