News
CIPFA figures have been released showing slight decline in library usage over 2009 to 2010 but with some increases – and 41 “service points” closed. We could be looking at ten times that this year. Or twenty times. The decision to end BookStart is causing dismay (email bookgifting@booktrust.org.uk with a statement of support). Save Somerset Libraries gains major local publicity and a councillor gets served with a 1200 name petition to save a library in Milton Keynes, by Santa.
